Homework completion continues to be a problem for many students. Students need to complete homework to reinforce learning. Time is taken away from my instruction to collect behavior slips, to keep track of homework detentions, to calculate who needs to be benched for recess, and to collect/record late work.
Students need to develop good homework habits now. In middle school, homework counts towards academic grades. Please help your child to develop their study/homework habits at home.
Students who have more than a few missing homework assignments will not get a satisfactory mark in "Homework Effort". (Students who get all A's and/or B's on their report cards and no S-'s or less for effort will get to be on Fairmont's Honor Roll that begins this trimester.)

There was an error on the grade reports that I sent home on Tuesday. On Daily Geography #12 I typed in 100 instead of 10 points possible. This error has been corrected, and a new printout for Social Studies has been attached to the back. I have initialed the printouts and students have taken them back today. It should be in their Take-Home Folder.
Thank you to the careful eyes of several parents!

Book-in-a-Bag Reports (including plot summary) are due as you walk in the door on Wednesday, Feb. 22. If you would like to turn it in on Tuesday you may. Late projects will be graded down one grade for each day late. (If a project arrives after our school day has begun on Wednesday, it will be considered late.) I'm looking forward to seeing quality projects and well-rehearsed presentations. Last update: 2/16/2012 3:40:28 PM

I am giving students an opportunity to raise their math test grade. Students need to use a separate paper to redo missed problems. Make sure to label problem numbers and show work carefully and correctly. I will give half credit for each problem redone correctly. Original test/work needs to be returned with redone problems. Test redos are due when the students walk in the door on Monday, Feb. 13. If they forget, they will not get another opportunity.

I hope everone is well rested from the long vacation and eager to return to school!
I am restarting my website (again), hoping that the "worm" problem was solved over the break.
To access homework, please select day of week needed.
